Powerlifting athlete’s sanction extended

  • Doping Violation Update

Sport Integrity Australia acknowledges the decision of Powerlifting Australia to impose an additional four-year ban on athlete Jessica Gray for breaching her Period of Ineligibility.

It was determined that Ms Gray breached her initial period of Ineligibility (from 16 January 2018 to 15 January 2022) by competing in a powerlifting event administered by the Council of Australian Powerlifting Organisations on 21 September 2019.

Powerlifting Australia imposed a new period of ineligibility of four year on Ms Gray, commencing on 16 January 2022.

Ms Gray is ineligible to participate in any sports that have adopted a World Anti-Doping Code compliant anti-doping policy until 16 January 2026. She is also not permitted to compete in a non-signatory professional league, or event organised by a non-signatory International or National level event organisation.

Details of Ms Gray’s original sanction can be found here.
