Sport Integrity Australia acknowledges that Diving Australia has imposed a 12-month period of Ineligibility on athlete Lachlan Abbott for the Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of Presence of a Prohibited Substance.
Mr Abbott returned an Adverse Analytical Finding from an In-Competition Doping Control Test on 4 October 2025.
Mr Abbott’s sample was analysed at the Australian Sports Drug Testing Laboratory, part of the National Measurement Institute, and the presence of D-Amfetamine/Dextroamfetamine, was detected.
D-Amfetamine/Dextroamfetamine is listed under Class S6.A (Non-Specified Stimulants) of the World Anti-Doping Code – International Standard – Prohibited List 2025.
D-Amfetamine/Dextroamfetamine is classed as a Non-Specified Substance and prohibited In-Competition only.
In accordance with Article 10.2.1 of the Australian National Anti-doping Policy 2021 (ANADP), Mr Abbott established that the ADRV was not committed intentionally.
Mr Abbott also received a further reduction to his sanction on the basis of No Significant Fault or Negligence under Article 10.6 of the ANADP.

Diving Australia has therefore imposed a 12-month period of Ineligibility on Mr Abbott which commenced on 30 November 2025.
Mr Abbott was subject to a Mandatory Provisional Suspension from 30 November 2025 and received credit for the period of Provisional Suspension period already served in accordance with Article 10.13.2.1 of the ANADP.
In accordance with Articles 10.1 and 10.10 of the ANADP, any medals, points or prizes obtained by Mr Abbott from 4 October 2025 onwards, are forfeited, including the disqualification of any results.
Mr Abbott is ineligible to participate in any sports that have adopted a World Anti-Doping Code compliant anti-doping policy until 11:59pm 29 November 2026.
He is also not permitted to compete in a non-signatory professional league, or event organised by a non-signatory International or National level event organisation.
Additional information on the Prohibited Substance
D-Amfetamine/Dextroamfetamine is a stimulant drug commonly used in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Stimulant medications, such as Methylphenidate (for example Ritalin, Concerta), Dexamphetamine and Lisdexamphetamine (for example Vyvanse) are prohibited In-Competition and require a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).
