We all have a role to play in keeping sport safe. Sport should be a safe and fair place for all participants.
We offer a safe place where you can seek help or raise concerns about behaviour you’ve seen or experienced in sport.
Tell us if you see something
If something has happened, you can tell us by:
- filling out an online form on our What you can report page
- calling the Safe Sport Hotline 1800 161 361.
The Safe Sport Hotline is a place for anyone in sport to feel heard, seek support and guidance around integrity matters in sport.
Be an active bystander
Athletes, parents and carers, coaches, and staff can all serve as active bystanders.
Being an active bystander means directly or indirectly intervening when you see something troubling.
Most of us want to do the right thing when we see something uncomfortable happening, but often we don't know what to do or are unsure of how to respond.
The below video developed in partnership with We Ride Together provides tips on how you can be an active bystander, including:
- making safety a priority by analysing risk
- deciding on the type of intervention – indirect or direct
- documenting the interaction
- how to report it.
