This page helps you understand what to do, who to talk to, and how to get support — because you have the right to feel safe and be heard.
What should I do if things go wrong? (Ages 7 to 12)
If something makes you feel scared, upset or unsafe: tell a trusted adult
- You, or the adult, can ask Sport Integrity Australia for help
- Keep speaking up until someone listens
- You deserve to feel safe.
Think about:
Who are three adults you trust and can talk to?
Activity:
Write down their names.
Example:
Imagine an adult or older kid asks you to keep a secret that makes you feel worried. That’s not okay. You can tell a trusted adult.
What you could say:
"Someone asked me to keep a secret that made me feel worried. I think I need help."
Tip:
It’s okay to ask for help more than once. You should always feel safe in sport.
What should I do if things go wrong? (Ages 13 to 17)
If you feel unsafe, disrespected or harmed:
- Report it to your club or Sport Integrity Australia
- Talk to someone you trust
- Contact support services like Kids Helpline or Headspace.
Reflection:
How would you start a conversation with someone you trust about a problem?
Scenario:
If you make a complaint, adults must take it seriously and help fix the problem.
What you could say:
"I don’t feel safe with something that happened, and I need to talk to someone about it. I’m not sure what to do, but I know I need help."
Tip:
Making a complaint is your choice. You should be supported and listened to—always.
