Earlier this year, SIA invited current and former Australian athletes from all sports to express their interest in joining the AAG. The EOI process received 70 applications from athletes representing 12 different sports.

SIA’s Director of Sport Partnerships, Linda Muir, said she is excited about the range of experiences and insights the new members will provide.

“The selection process featured a highly competitive field of national and international level athletes from diverse backgrounds, experiences and genders,” Ms Muir said.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work together and hear their athlete voices to better understand the integrity threats happening in sport right now.”

The AAG is made up of athletes who understand firsthand the complex environment and pressures of sport. These new athletes will use their experiences and perspectives to ensure the policies and operations of SIA are informed by those who are directly impacted.

The AAG will come together this week for the first meeting of 2025. SIA looks forward to continuing to work with the AAG to protect sport together.
