Declared sporting event or competition

The purpose of the list of declared events is to define athletes as a National-Level Athlete for the purposes of a sport's Anti-Doping Policy.

  • Any athlete preparing for, or competing in, any of the declared events listed on this page will be classed as a National-Level Athlete.
  • Any athlete on the Sport Integrity Australia Registered Testing Pool or Domestic Testing Pool will also be classed as a National-Level Athlete.

Any athlete who does not compete in any of the declared events listed on this page, or isn’t on a Registered Testing Pool or Domestic Testing Pool, may be considered as a Lower-Level Athlete.

For Lower-Level Athletes, the Sport Integrity Australia CEO will have discretion on whether to proceed with a matter, and, if a violation is proven, greater flexibility in recommending a sanction. This discretion relates only to anti-doping rule violations that are not associated with testing, such as Trafficking or Possession of a prohibited substance or prohibited method.
