Our goal is to keep Australian sport safe and fair. We acknowledge out-of-competition testing and maintaining Whereabout details can be inconvenient for athletes and make people feel overwhelmed and anxious.
However, it helps to protect your right as an athlete to compete on a level playing field free from doping.
Quarterly Whereabouts due dates
Every quarter, you must submit your Whereabouts information by a specific deadline.
You can update your information at anytime, but your quarterly submission must be in the system by the due date to meet your obligations. Note: The cut off time for Whereabouts filing on each due date is 23:59 AEST/AEDT.
| Filing submission deadline | Whereabouts period |

The World Anti-Doping Code and the Sport Integrity Australia Regulations 2020 set out our National Anti-Doping scheme.
Under this scheme, Australian athletes in the Registered Testing Pool and National Testing Pool must give us location Whereabouts details to help with no-advance notice out of competition testing.
This means that athletes can be tested for prohibited substances any time, anywhere, without prior warning. This can occur at home, during training, or while traveling.
This approach is a key part of a strong anti-doping program and helps prevent the use of prohibited substances.
Submitting your Whereabouts
The Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) is an online tool you can use to tell us your Whereabouts.
You can report through the online portal or download the Athlete Central app.
Online portal
Access ADAMS using Internet Explorer (Microsoft Edge) or Mozilla Firefox. Note: ADAMS is not compatible with Google Chrome or Safari.
The ADAMS Privacy Policy is also available via the WADA Business Portal log in link:
Athlete Central app
Free to download from Google Play and the App Store
Benefits include:
- Easy submission on your phone
- Mobile notifications to remind you when updates are due.
Updating Whereabouts information
You are required to keep your Whereabouts information accurate and current at all times.
This includes:
- training location and schedule
- overnight stays
- travel plans
- your daily 60-minute time slot (RTP athletes only).
These details are submitted through quarterly filings. We understand it can be hard to predict your schedule months in advance, so complete it to the best of your knowledge.
You can update your Whereabouts anytime using:
- Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) portal
- Athlete Central app
If you are having difficulty accessing ADAMS, email us as soon as possible at: athlete@sportintegrity.gov.au
Whereabouts failures and how to avoid them
If you're in the RTP, failing to meet your Whereabouts obligations may result in a Whereabouts Failure.
Filing failure
This occurs when an athlete:
- fails to submit their quarterly Whereabouts by the deadline
- submits incomplete or inaccurate information that prevents testing.
Missed test
This happens when:
- A Doping Control Officer attempts to test an RTP athlete during their declared 60-minute time slot, but the athlete is not available at the specified location
- Three Whereabouts failures (any combination of Filing Failures and Missed Tests) within a 12-month period may result in a 2-year ban from sport.
If you are an athlete in the NTP, failure to maintain accurate Whereabouts may result in you receiving a warning letter. Failure to correct your Filings may result in you being moved to the RTP, with stricter requirements.
How to avoid Whereabouts failures
- Complete your Whereabouts in advance (check Quarterly due dates)
- Follow Sport Integrity Australia on social media for Whereabouts reminders
