Born with severe scoliosis, James spent much of his early years undergoing surgeries and was often told what he couldn't do. After trying a range of sports, he discovered lawn bowls as a teenager and quickly found a sport where there were no barriers or boundaries to competing on equal terms.
James reflects on his journey from the NSW Far South Coast to the world stage, the support network that helped shape his career, and why representing Australia remains such a privilege.
