Sport Integrity Australia is proud to announce that Head of Anti-Doping Operations, Chris Butler, has been elected to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) Expert Advisory Group (EAG) for the 2026–2028 term.
Mr Butler is one of ten representatives elected globally to serve on the EAG, which plays a critical role in shaping anti-doping policy and practice through regional and global collaboration.
Members of the EAG provide expert guidance to WADA, represent the views of NADOs, and contribute to the governance of clean sport by electing representatives to WADA’s Foundation Board.

Sport Integrity Australia CEO, Dr Sarah Benson PSM, welcomed the announcement.
“Chris’s election to the NADO EAG reflects our commitment to influencing transparency and trust in global anti-doping frameworks, particularly in the context of inadvertent doping, societal drug use, and contamination.
Protecting the health and welfare of athletes remains our highest priority, and Chris will be a voice for Australia and the Oceania region, alongside Sport Integrity Commission New Zealand Chief Executive, Rebecca Rolls.

With more than 20 years’ experience in anti-doping, Mr Butler said he was honoured to be an elected voice for Australia and the Oceania region.
“The NADO EAG provides a vital platform to collaborate with global leaders and strengthen the role NADOs play in shaping the anti-doping system,” he said.
“With the Brisbane 2032 Games on the horizon and implementation of a new WADA Code approaching, it’s a crucial time for Australia and the Oceania region to have a strong voice.
I’m committed to ensuring the perspectives of smaller NADOs are heard and that our collective efforts continue to protect athletes and uphold the integrity of sport.

Chris will officially take up his position on the EAG on 1 January 2026.
