Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) is calling on prospective Australian applicants to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2026 Social Science Research Grant Program to connect and share expertise.

WADA created the program to facilitate and fund social science research that develops evidence-informed approaches to clean sport and doping prevention. WADA recently called for applicants to the 2026 program, with an information webinar to be held 16 October 2025.

SIA’s lead on Research & Strategic Projects, Dr Naomi Speers, said SIA is interested to hear from Australian researchers who are considering applying to the program to discover how SIA might support their work.

“Our research program partners with academics and other industry partners to explore topics and questions relevant to the evolving nature of integrity in the Australian sporting community, including anti-doping,” Dr Speers said.

We are keen to link up with researchers applying to the WADA Social Science Research Grant Program so we can consider if and how we could partner with them.

“Our expertise and experience in anti-doping can support researchers to contextualise projects and develop tangible outcomes.”

SIA especially welcomes contact from researchers that have project ideas aligning with SIAs research priorities and within the following areas of the WADA program:

  • Athlete pathway and experience
  • Role and Influence of athlete support personnel
  • Effectiveness of anti-doping/clean sport
  • Anti-doping policy impact and Non-sport Influences.

Interested researchers are encouraged to contact the SIA research team by emailing research@sportintegrity.gov.au

Applications to WADA’s program are due by 24 November 2025.
