Integrity policy offerings
We have different integrity policy offerings that can help sporting organisations deal with integrity matters.
We recognise that some sporting organisations can’t adopt the National Integrity Framework (the Framework) for a range of reasons.
To help these organisations deal with sport integrity matters we have developed other integrity policy offerings. They support an organisation to develop best practice integrity policies. Our offerings include the:
Sport Integrity Policy Standards
We have a series of Sport Integrity Policy Standards (the Standards) based on the Framework. These Standards are for organisations that can’t adopt the Framework because they are not eligible, are unable or chose not to.
The Standards are most suited to eligible organisations with existing integrity policies, procedures and dedicated internal resourcing.
The Standards support organisations to enhance their own integrity frameworks and policies and include:
- mandatory and recommended components
- flexibility for sport-specific considerations.
You can view our workflow diagram to find out if your organisation meets the Integrity policy offerings eligibility criteria.
Mandatory components
Organisations that follow the Standards (Standards sports/organisations) must include the mandatory components. This is either in each individual integrity policy or in a policy that connects them together. The policies must cover the following integrity threats:
- member protection
- complaint and dispute handling
- improper use of drugs and medicine
- safeguarding children and young people
- competition manipulation and sport gambling.
Alternative Best Practice Integrity Policy templates
We have a set of alternative best practice integrity policy templates that mirror the Framework policies. These are for organisations that don't meet the eligibility criteria to access the Framework or have their integrity policies assessed against the Standards.
The Alternative Best Practice Integrity Policy templates are:
- considered best practice
- in a generic format that organisations can tailor for their sport
- based on the Framework policy templates (with Sport Integrity Australia and Independent Complaint Handling Service (ICHS) references removed).
Each policy template has a guide to help organisations tailor the template to their specific needs.
Organisations can decide to use all policy templates as a package or as individual policy templates.
Access to other services
Organisations that are eligible for the Framework and Standards also have access to other services. These include support to develop a mandatory integrity education plan, policy guidance and support, quality assurance and education resources.
Organisations that are eligible for and sign-up to the Framework will also have access to our independent complaints handling service for matters about:
- safeguarding children and young people
- discrimination based on a protected characteristic.
Organisations that aren’t eligible for the Framework or Standards won’t be able to access:
- Education Plan support
- Policy guidance and support
- Policy approval for the purpose of quality assurance.
Table 1 – Policy offerings
Table 1 shows what can and can’t be accessed under each policy offering.
